Perform all steps to successfully install and configure the product.
The installation process contains the following steps:

- Installation of the Service Management Connector software

- Configuring the Service Management Connector
Preparations
Before installing the Service Management Connector, make sure the system requirements are fulfilled.
- Download the software
- Acquire a valid software license key by thebackbone.nl
- Please see the Product information and system requirements reference for detailed information about the prerequisites
Installation of the Service Management Connector software

Instructions on how to install the Service Management Connector software can be found at the Installation steps reference. - Placing the license file
After the installation has completed, store the acquired license file in the right location, see Placing the license file.
Importing and configuring the SCOM Management Pack
To monitor and activate the Service Management Connector follow these steps:
- Import the Management Pack
Information about where to download the Management Pack and how to import it can be found in Importing the SCOM Management Pack. - Activate the Management Pack
The Management Pack is activated by following the step described in Activate the SCOM Management Pack.
Configuring the Service Management Connector
After the above step are executed, the Service Management Connector is ready to be configured.
Follow these steps below:
- Setting up a link between two applications
A link combines a source- and target application to interchange monitoring and ticket information. To start processing information between both application, a link has to be configured.
The link adds the needed information to connect, read and write data from and to the applications.

Configure the Internal Connector in SCOM so it can process alerts and the Service Management Connector can forward them to the Service Management Tool.

After setting up the global configuration of the Service Management Connector, the way data is written to the IT Service Management Tool has to be configured. The same applies to the way data is written to SCOM. For more information, see Mapping File
